What exactly is Managed Solar?
Managed Solar lets you participate in a professionally developed and operated solar project located away from your property. Lumifly develops, operates and maintains the project, so you do not need solar equipment on your roof.
Do I need a rooftop or any equipment at home?
No. Your solar allocation is connected to a managed solar project away from your property, so there is no solar installation, wiring or generation equipment required at your home.
How do I receive the solar benefit on my electricity bill?
Your share of solar generation is credited to your electricity bill by the DISCOM through the Virtual Net Metering (VNM) process.
How long does a project take?
A project can take approximately 12 months between initial reservation and commissioning. You can follow the major milestones through your project dashboard.
Who maintains the project, and for how long?
Lumifly manages the solar project for the full 20-year term. We monitor generation, plan maintenance, coordinate cleaning and repairs, and manage grid and project processes—so you do not maintain panels, equipment or a rooftop solar system.
What happens if I move house or change my electricity connection?
Your available options depend on the project structure, your DISCOM connection and the transfer provisions in your customer agreement. Lumifly will explain the applicable process before you commit.
What happens if the solar project needs repairs or produces less energy than expected?
Lumifly monitors the project and coordinates maintenance and corrective work. Actual generation and bill treatment can vary with weather, equipment performance, grid conditions and the applicable regulatory framework.
